Low-priced Korean Food at CupBap Libis

These cute numbers for someone waiting for the food they ordered is one of the highlights of the newly opened CupBap in Eastwood City, Libis. We tried it few weeks ago 'cause we were too lazy to travel and too grumpy as we were already hungry. Replacing Kanto Freestyle's place, let's see what this new thing got for us.

The place got a promising and homey ambiance that makes people more comfortable to chat and eat. The framed quotes, fancy items, wall decals and handwritten-like menu is too cute for the eyes!

Cool wall decals!

Since it was newly-opened that time, we were entitled to their opening promo where in you can buy 4 rice meals and get one for free for Php 499. For a pasta lover like me, I was surprised to see carbonara on their menu so I decided to try it. It failed me though, as it doesn't taste like a legit carbonara. :( Seems that there's something cooked first on where they cooked it and the taste was just passed on. I don't know. It did not satisfy me.

The pork donkatsu is okay and the jjapchae was semi-okay. The milk tea is good, but I think it's ridiculous for you to add Php 20 for you to have the flavored ones. I got the mango one, anyway, not too sweet.

Kimchi Fried Rice for Php 85

Pork Bibimbap for Php 130

Pork Donkatsu Curry for Php 120

Carbonara for Php 95

My rating:

Few things that took two stars out:
  • SMELL OF THE PLACE. Maybe I'm really not into Korean food and I really can't take their smell. O baka dahil sobrang open ng kitchen? I've been into other Korean restos because two of my bestfriends are into this type of food, as well, but none of those have this smell. Maybe because the place is small so they won't have enough space but they should have enough ventilation and exhaust para makalabas ang any unwanted smell at the kitchen.
  • SMALL SERVING. I swear it is really small. I would still choose chaofan over them if I want to eat decent and get solved after. With the pork donkatsu that I ordered, para pa siyang naglulumangoy sa sauce but it was still good. They just need to add more rice to the serving for the sauce to blend equally.

I guess we just got served what we paid.

They don't have a page yet at Zomato, but you can check their menu using CupBap Ortigas page here or here or like they Facebook page here.
